Chemical properties: Methyl green often contains methyl violet or crystal violet. Due to the difference of production plants, there are two structures listed above. Generally speaking, it refers to Form I. Type I is green crystal with golden luster or light green powder. Soluble in water, blue, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether. It is usually a compound salt of zinc chloride. Type II is green powder. It is green and blue in water. When concentrated sulfuric acid is yellow, it turns green when diluted. Usually zinc chloride

Purpose: Nuclear staining agent, bacterial staining (fresh specimens, nuclear staining). The mixture of methyl green and hydrochloric acid is used for sperm identification, chromatin staining, gonococcal and mast cell staining.

Storage Conditions: Sealed and dried.
