Chemical properties: white or yellowish amorphous powder or gelatinous chips. It has a fragrant smell. It tastes bitter. It is very soluble in water, ethanol and acetone, slightly soluble in benzene and almost insoluble in ether. The aqueous solution is slightly alkaline to the litmus and produces a large amount of foam after shaking. Medium toxicity, half lethal dose (rat, oral) 400 mG/kG. It's stimulating.

Uses: Cationic surfactant. Fungicides. Surface preservatives.
