Chemical Properties: A trisaccharide made by hydrolysis of cottonseed cake grinding powder or sugar beet molasses. It consists of dextrogalactose, dextrose and levofructose. White crystalline powder. Crystallization from aqueous solution carries five-molecule crystalline water. When heated slowly to 100℃, the crystalline water is lost. Soluble in water. Very slightly soluble in ethanol. It has right-light property. Solubility: 143g/L water, 1g/10ml methanol, soluble in pyridine, slightly soluble in alcohol.
Usage: raffinose has important pharmacological effect, anti-hematological effect and anti-cancer effect on germ cells. In the food industry, it can be added to various beverages, dairy products, nutritional oral liquid and various health food.
Melting point: 78-80℃
Boiling point: 884.8℃
Solubility: soluble in pyridine and water
Storage conditions: easy to absorb moisture, sealed preservation.
